Student Support Services
Welcome to Student Support Services at Westview Secondary School. Student Support Services strives to meet the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs of students. Our goal is to ensure each student feels valued and supported in reaching their full potential, both inside and outside the classroom. We collaborate with classroom teachers to provide curriculum adaptations and modifications in inclusive and flexible learning environments. We communicate with parents/guardians to ensure their child is receiving meaningful educational opportunities that align with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Should you have any questions about services we can provide your child, please contact our school office and ask to be directed to our Student Support Services Department Head. We are helping make Westview "a great place to be."
Please take some time to check out this website. The purpose of the website is to support students, teachers, Special Education assistants (S.E.A.s), administration, and parents / guardians with their teaching practise, learning needs, and personal development. To develop more as a learner, there are materials on study skills, learning styles, and personal interests. Under the teachers tab, there is information on the different types of special needs and how they can be supported in the classroom. There is also information on how to set up an inclusive classroom. Under the parents tab, there are strategies listed on how parents / guardians can support their child's learning at home and assist with homework. There is also a section on cybersafety and bullying. Under the post-graduation tab, it explores graduation requirements and volunteer opportunities. It also looks at how to apply for scholarships, bursaries, and awards.
